Since June, the FBI has captured four of its Most Wanted Fraudsters in five weeks — on three different continents — accounting for a combined nearly $1.8 billion in alleged fraud, collectively on the run for over 3,500 days. All four are now in custody.
The latest is Elaine Escoe, 41, who allegedly helped steal more than $32 million in COVID-19 relief funds through a sprawling fraud scheme involving fake businesses, fabricated tax documents, manufactured bank records, and kickbacks of up to 50% of loan proceeds. She was charged in 2025, failed to appear for her court date, and fled to Jamaica — where she was living under the fake identity “Harley Newman” until Jamaican authorities, acting on a tip, caught up with her.
She was returned to the United States Friday. She is the last remaining defendant in a scheme where her co-conspirators have already been convicted and sentenced to a combined total of over 480 months in federal prison.
Kash Patel said it plainly: “Elaine Angene Escoe, on the run since May of 2025, was captured in Jamaica while living under a fake identity — and returned to the United States today to face justice. Those who steal from American taxpayers have nowhere to hide.”
He’s right. And the track record of the last five weeks proves it isn’t just a slogan.
Here’s what the Biden administration’s approach to COVID fraud enforcement actually produced: a sprawling theft operation that by some estimates consumed hundreds of billions of dollars from programs supposedly designed to help American businesses survive a national crisis. PPP loans. Restaurant Revitalization Fund grants. Shuttered Venue Operators grants. Economic Injury Disaster loans. Every program with money attached became a target, and the enforcement response — for years — was slow, scattered, and insufficient to create any real deterrence.
The Trump administration created the National Fraud Enforcement Division in April. The Most Wanted Fraudsters List launched June 4. By June 8 — four days later — the first capture was made. Three more followed in five weeks. Over 30 high-value targets have been returned to U.S. custody since June alone.
This is what happens when an administration treats government fraud as the serious federal crime it actually is, rather than a bureaucratic inconvenience to be managed with consent decrees and strongly worded letters.
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche captured the administration’s posture in one sentence: “Those who exploit taxpayer-funded programs will be held accountable by this Department of Justice, no matter how long it takes or where they attempt to hide.”
Jamaica. The Philippines. Wherever they run. They’re coming back.

News has just come in, that the King of Norway, King Harald V has passed away and is survived by his son, Crown Prince Haakon and his wife Queen Sonja.
According to the BBC the 89-year-old monarch had been in treatment for 10 days at this point and was receiving treatment for a rare blood condition called haemolytic anaemia, its being said.
For those unversed with the disorder it is where red blood cells end up getting destroyed in the body way faster than the bone marrow can make new ones. It leads to dizziness, shortness of breath and a myriad of other conditions.
On Thursday an official update was also shared, whereby the Palace had revealed how serious his condition was. What is also pertinent to mention is that the royal has been on the throne since 1991, and is considered Europe’s oldest head of state, according to the outlet.
His son, the Crown Prince is also 53-years’ old and has already been serving as regent while his father was on medical leave.
The outlet’s report also says, “King Harald has been treated in recent weeks with cortisone for haemolytic anaemia, a condition that causes the number of red blood cells in the body to be reduced, and leads to fatigue and shortness of breath.”
The official website has also gone down since then, with the simple message, "It is with deep grief that we announce that His Majesty King Harald has passed away. King Harald died peacefully at Oslo University Hospital Rikshospitalet Friday 28 August at 6:35 AM."

Dolly Parton’s death came after a brief battle with cancer, her representatives revealed Tuesday.
The country music legend died Aug. 25 at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville. She was 80.
Parton had been admitted to the cancer center Friday, four days before her death. Her representatives confirmed the cancer diagnosis in a statement to PEOPLE but did not disclose what type she had.
“Our beloved Dolly Parton spent her life and career bringing joy, laughter, hope and integrity into everything she touched. Her unmatched generosity reached the lives of countless people whom she would never meet, yet she was always there to offer a helping hand,” the statement read.
“Whether it be the hundreds of millions of books donated through her invaluable Imagination Library or funding research that helped create a lifesaving vaccine used around the world, Dolly’s unconditional love for all people was the guiding force for her lasting impact. After bravely facing a brief battle with cancer, Dolly departed her Earthly life today at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center surrounded by loved ones,” the statement concluded.
The “Jolene” singer had also been dealing with kidney and autoimmune issues before her death, PEOPLE previously reported.
Just days earlier, Dolly Parton opened up about her declining health and acknowledged that she had put off addressing some medical issues while caring for her husband, Carl.
“As I’ve shared in video messages throughout the past year, I am dealing with some health issues that I just didn’t pay attention to when I was watching over [my husband] Carl. You know, this isn’t the first time I’ve had to manage something like this. Back in the early ’80s, I was down for several months with female issues, and I was struggling with my weight at the time too, so it’s not like I haven’t been through hard times with my health,” Parton told PEOPLE.
Her nephew, Bryan Seaver, announced her death in an Instagram video Tuesday on behalf of the Parton and Owens family.
“My name is Bryan Seaver, son of Cassie Parton, and I’m representing the Parton and Owens family today announcing the passing of my aunt, Dolly Rebecca Parton Dean, Sister, Sis and Granny to one generation and Gigi to the next,” he says in the video.
Seaver, who served as Parton’s head of security for more than two decades, said she had asked him years earlier to deliver the announcement.
“This video announcement is something Dolly asked of me years ago, before I fully absorbed it as a future reality,” he continued. “As her head of security for more than two decades, a role my father Larry held before me, I have imagined the heaviness of this moment but haven’t truly felt it until now.”
Seaver said the moment brought immense pride and heartbreak, but he took comfort in his faith that Parton had been reunited with Carl and other loved ones.
