King Charles reportedly did not get much warning about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's plans to return to the UK. That lack of information is now said to be causing tension behind palace walls.
According to Closer Weekly, the king was "completely blindsided" when he learned about the couple's plans. The insider claimed the news was welcome in some ways. However, Charles allegedly felt he should have been told much sooner.
The couple's return was reportedly in the works for months. Harry and Markle, along with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, spent time with Charles at Highgrove House on July 10. Yet, as reports indicate, the monarch was unaware of their plans to move back until August 16.
The timing has apparently added to Charles' frustration. The source claimed Harry had been looking into schools months before the family arrived in Birmingham on August 26. Charles, however, allegedly got the update weeks before the move.
Then, on September 2, Page Six reported that Archie and Lilibet would attend a private U.K. prep school. The news has fueled further speculation about how much planning had already taken place.
