TRUMP CANCELS $1 BILLION IN SPENDING APPROVED BY CONGRESS

Trump cancels nearly $1 billion in spending approved by Congress, a move some lawmakers called illegal - CBS News

THIS IS ILLEGAL: Congress approved the money, and Don the Con just took nearly $1 billion of it back anyway. And he timed it so nobody could stop him.

Federal law gives Congress 45 days to review cuts like this. So Wannabe-King Donald announced them with five days left in the fiscal year and the House gone until after the election.

The trick is called a "pocket rescission," and Congress's own watchdog, the Government Accountability Office, says it's illegal.

He spent the whole week with Xi. Apparently he took notes.

In China, the legislature exists to rubber-stamp whatever Xi wants. The Toddler-in-Chief seems to think ours should work the same way.

Look at what he went after: services for refugees and unaccompanied migrant kids, housing counseling, a minority business program, and a Justice Department office that works to ease racial tensions.

The White House even made a point of noting that some of the targeted groups are run by people who worked for Barack Obama.

All these years later, and Obama STILL lives rent free in his head.

Even Republicans are furious. GOP Sen. Susan Collins, who chairs the Senate Appropriations Committee, called it a "usurpation of Congress's appropriations powers." She's very concerned.

Democrat Patty Murray called it "theft from the American people, plain and simple."

The Grifter-in-Chief pulled the same stunt last year to block $4.9 billion in foreign aid. Nobody stopped him then, so he came back for more.

Before Trump, no president had pulled this stunt since Jimmy Carter in 1977, nearly 50 years ago.

The power of the purse belongs to Congress, not to one man holding a grudge against Obama.
