Chapter 037 – The Bank Meeting

Chapter 37 - Chapter 037 – The Bank Meeting

Mr. Lawson drove me to the bank Monday morning.

I insisted I could drive.

He said a woman could be independent and still accept a ride after being abandoned at a bus station.

That sounded suspiciously like wisdom, so I let him win.

At the bank, we removed all child access from my accounts.

New passwords.

New PIN.

New mailing address for statements: Mr. Lawson’s office.

The banker, a young man named Trevor, kept saying “for security.”

I corrected him.

“For dignity.”

He looked embarrassed.
